Lagos Traffic Radio's 2026 Retreat

Powering the THEMES+ Agenda Through People and Purpose

Lagos Traffic Radio (LTR) recently held its Y2026 Management Retreat in Lekki, Lagos, themed Enhancing Organizational Productivity: Aligning People, Performance and Purpose — a bold declaration of the station's alignment with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's THEMES+ Agenda.

Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, charged staff to work harder and embrace new technological innovations, stressing that staying ahead requires forward thinking and a future-ready mindset.

Omotosho urged the station to expand its coverage area and maintain its No. 1 status by paying close attention to competition. He emphasized stronger social media presence, enriched with compelling graphics, photographs, and real-life situational content to deepen relevance.

The Commissioner was unequivocal — every lesson from the retreat must translate into action, driving measurable improvements in performance and service delivery.

Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Information & Strategy and Security, Honourable Steven Olukayode Ogundipe — accompanied by colleague Honourable Samuel Apata — expressed pride in his association with LTR, commending the organisation's outstanding performance and its investment in staff capacity development.

Seated Front Row (L-R) – Fashina M.J (LTR Director A & HR); Hon. Samuel Apata (LAHA); Hon. Steven Olukayode Ogundipe (LAHA); Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Olanrewaju Bajulaye; General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Tayo Akanle

He affirmed that LTR is doing fantastically well and that its retreat culture reflects a station deeply committed to people, purpose, and the prosperity of Lagos — values at the very heart of the THEMES+ Agenda.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaye reminded staff that the retreat was designed to refresh and sharpen existing knowledge, reinforcing a culture of continuous forward thinking. He equally stressed that the value of any training lies entirely in its application.

The General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Tayo Akanle, marking the Agency's landmark 4th Retreat, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Lagos State Government and House of Assembly executives, reaffirming LTR's unwavering commitment to professional development locally and internationally. He pledged to protect and build on the station's growth while enhancing leadership capacity to deliver its mandate with excellence.
